The 184 Street overpass over Yellowhead Trail will close starting the week of Aug. 10 for three months of rehabilitation work. The city said the bridge, which hasn't been renovated since the early 2000s, needs a new deck, fresh asphalt, and an upgraded waterproofing system.
During construction, the ramps on and off Yellowhead Trail will stay open, as will access to and from 184 Street itself — but drivers crossing the bridge will need to use other routes. The city is suggesting Anthony Henday Drive, along with the 156 Street and 170 Street overpasses, as alternatives.
ETS bus stops, business access, and pedestrian movement will remain unchanged, though on-demand transit travel times may be affected. The overpass is expected to reopen sometime in the fall, though an exact date hasn't been set yet.
