The Oilers are cutting prices on some items at Rogers Place. The change, announced in a Sunday post, is branded "Decade Deals" and marks the arena's 10th anniversary. The deals will be available at every Oilers home game from now on.
The Oilers' post lists $10 parking, $10 burgers and $10 t-shirts at every home game. Specific items include a $10 cream Oilers script t-shirt sold in sections 119 and 127, a $10 Decade Burger and $10 Perogy Dog from a portable concession in Section 107, and a $10 Decade Deal Combo of a 12-ounce Molson Canadian and a Nathan's Famous All Beef hot dog from Molson Hockey House. Parking is $10.75 at the Rogers Place Arena North Lots, with the promo code OILERSPARKING10 for online checkout only.
The deals do not cover every concession item. The price cuts come as fans have complained about concession prices and ticket costs, and as attendance has slipped slightly this season. The Oilers had their lowest turnout in nearly four seasons earlier this month.
The Oilers have not said how long the deals will run beyond "moving forward" or how much the price cuts will cost the team. A September announcement from OEG Sports & Entertainment described a separate food and beverage refresh at the arena, including a $10 Decade Deal, and it is unclear whether that is the same program.
How long will the Decade Deals last, and what will they cost the Oilers?
Are the October Decade Deals the same program as the September food refresh announced by OEG Sports & Entertainment?
We'll update this story as answers emerge.
