The west sidewalk on Edmonton's High Level Bridge will close at noon on Monday, July 20, for emergency repairs to damaged drainage infrastructure and slope erosion caused by recent heavy rainfall.
The closure is expected to remain in place until July 23. The work comes after repairs to the bridge's east sidewalk, which reopened on July 17. However, the section between the southeast staircase and Saskatchewan Drive remains closed until further notice.
Pedestrians can use the east staircase to access the river valley trail system or cross to the west side using available stair connections to 109 Street. Those travelling between downtown and the south side are encouraged to use the Walterdale Bridge or Menzies LRT Bridge as alternate crossings.
