The City of Leduc has received the 2026 Municipal Inspiring Workplace Award from the Canadian Association of Municipal Administrators (CAMA), presented at the June 22 city council meeting.

The award recognizes Canadian municipalities that show leadership and create positive, people-first workplaces. Leduc was chosen from 54 submissions across the country for its People Strategy & Plan (2025–2029), a five-year roadmap focused on supporting employees from recruitment and onboarding through growth and development.

"This is something the organization can take pride in," said Leduc City Manager Derek Prohar. "It reflects steady, intentional work to strengthen how we support our people. We're seeing early progress, and we're committed to continuing that effort over time."

Brenda Orchard, CAMA Past President, noted that the award recognizes more than new policies and programs. "It is about making the City of Leduc a great place to work and providing the right conditions for employees to thrive. In turn, it will make the community a better place to live and do business within."
