Mill Woods massage therapist charged after sexual assault reported

A Mill Woods massage therapist has been charged with sexual assault after a woman reported he touched her inappropriately during a June massage therapy session.
The assault occurred at Bamboo Wellness, near 34 Avenue and 97 Street, according to a Tuesday Edmonton Police Service news release. Julio Uribe, 36, is facing one count of sexual assault. He was charged on June 10 and released with conditions, including no contact with the complainant and a prohibition on going to his workplace.
Investigators believe there may be additional complainants and are asking anyone with a similar experience to come forward. Support is available through local sexual assault support services or the Edmonton Police Service.
This is the third massage therapist charged with sexual assault in Edmonton in two years. In December 2025, Christian Zeus Cabillan, 42, was charged with sexual assault at an Oliver massage clinic; additional complaints led to two additional charges. Pepito Manalo, 55, was charged in November 2024 after a woman reported being inappropriately touched at a Mill Woods physiotherapy clinic; additional complaints led to four charges. Satish Poojari was charged in November 2024 with four counts of sexual assault at his South Edmonton practice.
There are believed to be about 1,600 massage therapists in the greater Edmonton region.
