Montreal rapper Loud's debut album Une année record officially reached platinum certification Tuesday, marking only the second platinum record in Quebec hip-hop history.

Released in October 2017, the album sold 80,000 copies in Canada, Joy Ride Records announced. The milestone came nearly nine years after release—a significant achievement in the streaming era. Loud, 38, has held a prominent place in Quebec's rap landscape for over a decade.

The album's lead single, Toutes les femmes savent danser, became a mainstream hit. Other standout tracks—Nouveaux riches, Devenir immortel, and TTTTT—remain central to his catalog today. The record won the Félix for Hip-Hop Album of the Year at the 2018 ADISQ Gala and took home the Juno for Francophone Album of the Year in 2019.

Only La force de comprendre by Dubmatique (1997) preceded it in platinum status for Quebec rap. Since Une année record, Loud has released three more albums: Tout ça pour ça (2019), Aucune promesse (2022), and Douze sur douze (2025). He is currently touring across the province.
