Sook-Yin Lee's new album 72RHR, released on Hand Drawn Dracula, marks her first musical project in five years and her first without the influence of her late partner and collaborator, Adam Litovitz.

The album opens a fresh chapter. Elements of new wave, synth pop, and experimental art pop flow throughout, with Lee oscillating between sounds that are eerie, brooding, and sonically rich. The sonic range demonstrates a command that has always been there but now feels impossible to deny.

Lee's musical chops have been on display for years—her credentials stretch from her MuchMusic VJ days through multiple creative disciplines. But 72RHR is the album that should settle any question about her depth as a musician. The Cult MTL review scored it 8/10, calling it one that "delivers the goods beautifully."
