MURAL Festival transforms Saint-Laurent Boulevard this week
The 14th annual street art festival opens Thursday with live painting, block parties, artist battles and free workshops along the Main.
The MURAL Festival returns to Montreal on Thursday, transforming Saint-Laurent Boulevard into a sprawling open-air gallery for its 14th edition through June 14.
The festival has announced eight additional visual artists contributing new works to the city's urban landscape: Projet TYXNA, Omar Bernal, Isadora Ayesha, Korb, M. Roboto, Bibi Una, La Fureur du Wragon and PsyQu33n Medusa.
The event will feature live mural painting, eight free Block Parties throughout the run, guided art tours and the return of the popular Secret Walls competition, where artists face off in live "paint battles" before a public audience. The Main will pulse with music, street energy and community presence all week.
Visitors can also participate in free graffiti lettering workshops and Street Chalk activities at Parc du Portugal. Organizers say the festival once again transforms the neighborhood into a hub for art, music and community, offering activities for visitors of all ages.
The festival runs June 4 to 14 along Saint-Laurent Boulevard.
