Police watchdog sets up command post to seek witnesses of June Côte-des-Neiges shooting
The Bureau des enquêtes indépendantes is gathering information about the incident that killed three people, including a police officer and civilian, on June 22.

The Bureau des enquêtes indépendantes (BEI) is seeking witnesses and video footage from the shooting on June 22 in Montréal's Côte-des-Neiges neighbourhood that left three people dead. The provincial police watchdog will set up a mobile command post near the corner of Avenue de Courtrai and Décarie Boulevard between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Monday to interview anyone with information about the incident.
The shooting claimed the lives of SPVM officer Mohamed Lamine Benredouane, civilian Michel Mizrahi, and the suspect. Montreal police responded to a report of an armed individual at approximately 11:35 a.m. on June 22, and gunfire erupted during the encounter.
The BEI investigation is ongoing. Anyone who witnessed the incident or has video footage can visit the command post on July 6 or contact the BEI through its website with information.
