Police arrested one person after a vehicle drove dangerously close to pedestrians near Angrignon Park on Trinitaires Boulevard in LaSalle on Saturday night, June 13, around 9:00 p.m.

Officers who were already stationed near the park attempted to intercept the suspicious vehicle. "Police officers who were near the park attempted to intercept a suspicious vehicle that was driving dangerously close to people heading towards Angrignon Park for a party that was taking place there," said Constable Raphaël Bergeron, spokesperson for the Montreal Police Service (SPVM). "At the time of the interception, the suspicious vehicle reportedly drove towards the police officers."

One gunshot was then heard, and police opened fire in the direction of the suspect vehicle. No injuries were reported on either side.

The vehicle came to a stop and one man was arrested. Two other occupants fled on foot, and searches conducted in the park did not locate them. The arrested man was taken to a detention center for questioning by SPVM investigators. The investigation is ongoing.
