Montreal police are investigating a suspected arson after two vehicles went up in flames early Sunday morning in Rivière-des-Prairies–Pointe-aux-Trembles.

Multiple 911 calls came in around 12:35 a.m. reporting a vehicle fire on Nicola-Leblanc Avenue near Rita-Levi-Montalcini Avenue. Fire crews arrived to find a sedan and pickup truck both engulfed in flames, both sustaining major damage. No injuries were reported.

Police say the presence of potentially flammable materials at the scene suggests criminal intent. A suspect reportedly approached the vehicles, set them on fire, and fled. Both vehicles were towed for forensic examination. SPVM's Arson Unit is handling the investigation. No arrests have been made.
