Montreal police's arson squad is investigating after an SUV was deliberately set on fire in Montreal North early Saturday morning.

Police received multiple 911 calls around 4 a.m. reporting the vehicle engulfed in flames while parked in a private driveway on Rue des Récollets, near Rue Prieur. Firefighters quickly brought the blaze under control.

According to the SPVM, one or more suspects intentionally set the vehicle ablaze before fleeing the scene. Investigators later located incendiary materials at the location. No damage was reported to surrounding property, and no injuries occurred.

No arrests have been made. The investigation remains ongoing.
