A two-alarm fire severely damaged a commercial building in Lachine early Monday morning, with no injuries reported.
Montreal firefighters received 911 calls around 1:45 a.m. to a fire breaking out on Du Pacifique Avenue near Montreal-Toronto Boulevard. Flames spread to neighboring buildings as over 70 crews were deployed to fight the blaze.
The building sustained significant damage, and vehicles in a neighboring auto repair shop's garage may have also been damaged. The cause of the fire is currently unknown.
The eastbound ramp from Highway 20 leading to the Honoré-Mercier Bridge was closed while firefighting operations were underway.
