Two cyclists in their 60s were struck by a vehicle Thursday evening near the intersection of Sainte-Catherine and Frontenac streets in Ville-Marie.

Montreal police received a 911 call around 5:10 p.m. reporting the collision. The cyclists were heading eastbound on Sainte-Catherine when they were hit by a car traveling north on Frontenac. The 65-year-old cyclist is in critical condition, while the 61-year-old is out of danger. Both were taken to hospital.

The driver, a 41-year-old man, was not injured. Police are investigating the circumstances of the collision. Traffic was closed for several hours during the police operation.
