Charles-De Gaulle Bridge closes nights for paving work through June 15
Highway 40 will see lane closures from Sunday to Friday between 9 p.m. and 5-8 a.m. as crews repair the bridge and improve road conditions.
Transport Quebec will undertake paving and culvert repair work on Highway 40 at the Charles-De Gaulle Bridge between June 8 and 15 to improve safety and ride comfort for drivers.
Work will happen overnight to minimize traffic disruption. Two of three lanes on the eastbound side and one of three lanes westbound will close nightly.
Eastbound traffic will be diverted to the opposite carriageway to maintain one lane eastbound and two westbound. Speed will be reduced to 70 km/h in the work zone, and lane width may narrow to 3.5 metres. On Sundays through Thursdays, closures run 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.; Fridays 9 p.m. to 7 a.m.; and Saturdays 9 p.m. to 8 a.m.
Weather or operational issues may delay or cancel work. Transport Quebec recommends checking Québec 511 before driving.
