Hydro-Québec strike begins; overtime halted indefinitely
9,000 union members refuse overtime; complex projects expected to face delays
Two unions at Hydro-Québec launched an indefinite strike Thursday morning, with 9,000 members refusing to work overtime. The Trades Union and Technologists Union initiated the action.
While regular work operations continue unaffected, Hydro-Québec management warns that the overtime refusal "could have an impact on more complex projects." Certain non-urgent work and operations are expected to face delays as a result of the labor action.
