Montreal and Quebec City have been named co-host cities for the women's volleyball World Cup, marking the tournament's first North American staging. The competition runs August 5 to September 5, 2027, with 32 countries competing to determine the world champion and earn Olympic qualifying berths for Los Angeles 2028.

Montreal's Bell Centre will host Round of 16 and pool phase matches from August 20 to 28, alongside Quebec City's Videotron Centre. The tournament will also be held in Omaha, Nebraska; Orlando, Florida; Anaheim, California; and Omaha, with Anaheim hosting the quarterfinals, semifinals and final.

The 2027 World Cup serves as an Olympic qualifier — the top three countries not yet qualified for 2028 earn berths to Los Angeles. Canada's women's national team has already secured their Olympic berth after winning the NORCECA regional tournament in August in the Dominican Republic. They will compete in Olympic indoor women's volleyball in Los Angeles for the first time since 1996. Italy is the defending world champion.

The announcement comes as international volleyball interest grows in North America. Quebec voters are heading to the polls October 5, and the World Cup hosting rights offer a rare bright spot for provincial sports infrastructure ahead of a potential change in government.
