Eleven Montreal-based companies have been named among Canada's 200 best employers for company culture in Forbes's latest annual ranking, released this month.
Forbes partnered with Statista to survey more than 37,000 Canadian workers at companies with at least 500 employees, asking them to rate their employers on fairness, inclusion, recognition, collaboration, and career growth.
The Business Development Bank of Canada ranks highest among Montreal entries at #19 nationally, jumping from #52 last year. Other notable local placings include National Bank of Canada (#36), CGI (#43), BMO Financial Group (#48), Transat A.T. (#53), Hydro-Québec (#57), Concordia University (#76), Ubisoft (#89), Inditex (#94), McGill University (#126), and CHU Sainte-Justine (#191).
Quebec as a whole made a strong showing with 21 companies on the broader list. Université Laval retained its title as Canada's best employer for culture, a repeat from last year, while Université de Sherbrooke climbed to #2 — putting two Quebec universities at the very top of the entire national ranking.
