Five suspects, including three teenagers, have been charged following a smash-and-grab jewelry store robbery on Clark Street near Viger Avenue in Montreal's Ville-Marie borough on September 11, around 12:30 p.m.
The suspects smashed the front door and display cases with tools to steal jewelry, then fled in a vehicle. Montreal police (SPVM) arrested all five suspects approximately 30 minutes later in Saint-Laurent borough, and recovered the stolen jewelry.
The adult suspects are Jason Clerveaux, 21, and Roldy Fenelon-Jean, 19. Both appeared in court in Montreal and face charges including breaking and entering, robbery, possession of burglary tools, wearing a disguise for criminal purposes, and mischief. Clerveaux also faces a charge of receiving stolen goods. Three teenagers—two aged 16 and one aged 17—appeared in youth court and face similar charges. The three minors have not been identified.
A jewelry store employee was present during the incident but was not injured.
