Quebec allocated $1,026,250 in funding Saturday, July 18 to support commemorations of the 50th anniversary of the 1976 Montreal Olympics, which are taking place throughout summer 2026.
The province's tourism ministry granted $526,250 through the Financial Aid for Festivals and Tourist Events program, while the Secretariat for the Metropolitan Region of the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing committed additional support. Tourism Minister Amélie Dionne said the support reflects Quebec's commitment to the Games' enduring impact. "In 1976, the Olympics marked a decisive turning point in Montreal and Quebec's history," she said in a statement. The programming runs through the end of summer 2026.
