Flight attendants from Pascan Aviation picketed at the newly opened Montréal Metropolitan Airport on Monday, accusing the airline of refusing to negotiate a first collective agreement.

Members of CUPE 5490 have been on strike for over seven months, fighting for what they call decent working conditions and recognition of their value to the airline. The union says Pascan has not come to the negotiating table for over two months.

"Our members are fighting for a second collective agreement that fully recognizes the value of their work and their contribution, particularly through decent working conditions," said Patrick Gloutney, president of CUPE-Quebec. The union added that the airline has resorted to using replacement workers, further complicating settlement negotiations.

Passan is one of two commercial airlines launching service at the airport alongside Porter Airlines.
