The Goo Goo Dolls announced they cancelled the remaining four dates of their Canadian tour, including the show that was scheduled for Monday, April 5 at the Canadian Tire Centre, because frontman John Rzeznik is suffering from pneumonia.
"John was diagnosed with pneumonia and has not fully recovered," the band said in a statement. "We are very disappointed and can't wait to get back to Canada as soon as possible."
In addition to Ottawa, the band had been scheduled to perform at Place Bell in Laval on April 8, the Scotiabank Centre in Halifax on April 10, and the Avenir Centre in Moncton on April 11. The band was touring with Florida-based Dashboard Confidential.
The Goo Goo Dolls, who broke out of Buffalo in the 1980s, are best known for hits like "Iris" and "Name." Tickets will be refunded.
