Indigenous stand-up comedians will take the stage at the National Arts Centre on June 17 for Got Land?, a comedy showcase celebrating National Indigenous History Month.

The event features First Nation, Inuit and Métis entertainers telling jokes and sharing individual life stories. While some performers express solidarity through humour rooted in shared experience, others simply bring the laughs.

The show runs 8 p.m. to 9:45 p.m. at the NAC's Fourth Stage, 1 Elgin Street. Tickets are $25 general admission, with discounted options for under-30 audience members ($15) and Indigenous community members ($15).

The showcase lands during a month dedicated to celebrating First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples, cultures and contributions. It's part of the NAC's broader Indigenous Theatre initiative, which aims to nourish and support Indigenous artists and audiences.

Got Land? is not eligible for NAC subscriptions but offers an accessible entry point to Indigenous arts and storytelling. Ages 14 and up are welcome.

For a city hosting major federal institutions, the NAC's commitment to Indigenous performance reflects a growing recognition that national cultural spaces need to centre Indigenous voices and creative expression.
