Mark Motors Group has officially broken ground on a new state-of-the-art Volkswagen facility in Gatineau, reinforcing the family-owned retailer's expansion across the Ottawa-Gatineau market.

The project follows the group's 2025 acquisitions of Volkswagen de l'Outaouais and Mercedes-Benz Gatineau. Michael Mrak, dealer principal of Mark Motors Group, emphasized that the upcoming facility is designed with innovation and sustainability at its core, featuring high-capacity EV charging infrastructure, a spacious contemporary showroom, and a cutting-edge service centre.

"Strong dealer partners like Mark Motors Group play a critical role in Volkswagen's continued growth in Canada," said Jeff Wingrove, Director of Network Development at Volkswagen Canada. "The new Gatineau Volkswagen dealership will be a premier showcase for the future of our brand."

Construction is now underway with local contractors and tradespeople bringing the vision to life. The dealership's official grand opening will be announced in the coming months.

Founded in 1959 by Austrian-born Louis Mrak, Mark Motors originally opened as a European car service centre in Ottawa. Today it is the Ottawa-Gatineau region's leading luxury car dealership, with showrooms housing Porsche, Audi, Alfa Romeo, Maserati, Jaguar, Land Rover, Mercedes-Benz, and Volkswagen models.
