Two O-Train lines will shut down next weekend for maintenance work, OC Transpo's new general manager Rick Leary announced Friday.

Line 2, which runs between Bayview and Limebank stations, and Line 4, the spur connecting South Keys to the airport, will close June 13-14 for what Leary called "proactive maintenance activities."

The downtime will include an end-to-end track inspection that requires a full line closure, alongside other coordinated maintenance work. R2 bus service will operate every 12 minutes between Bayview and Limebank during the closure, while Route 105 will replace Line 4 service every 15 minutes.

This is the first major maintenance closure announced by Leary since taking the helm of the transit authority. Residents relying on these lines should plan extra travel time or consider alternative routes for that weekend.

The maintenance push signals OC Transpo's focus on reliability as ridership continues to recover.
