The Ontario Provincial Police are reminding the public not to bring unexploded material directly to police stations after a resident arrived at the Ottawa detachment with a Second World War-era hand grenade on Friday.
Provincial police say they are equipped and willing to assist with problem items like grenades and other hazardous materials — but residents should call rather than transport them in person. The OPP can dispatch trained personnel to handle such discoveries safely.
