Adam Daniels, 45, an Ottawa resident and former Uber Eats delivery driver, has been charged with criminal harassment, mischief, and prowling by night following an investigation into two incidents involving a young girl.

According to other coverage, the incidents began after the girl ordered Uber Eats after midnight on August 3 during a sleepover. The delivery driver asked for her phone number. About an hour later, someone left a brown paper bag at the house containing candy and a note reading "from your secret admirer." Two weeks later, a second package arrived addressed to the girl, containing a note.

After the first incident, the girl's mother installed security cameras. Footage showed a man driving past the house multiple times. The mother reported the matter to CTV News in August. Uber Eats removed the man from its platform, saying the behaviour was "unacceptable."

Ottawa Police Service announced the charges on Monday, October 5. The investigation is continuing. In previous years, Daniels faced charges related to child exploitation: he was arrested in Nashville on child-sex charges in June 2026, charged by the FBI in a child exploitation case that same month, and charged with possessing child sexual abuse materials in July 2026. It remains unclear whether the charges announced this week are related to those earlier cases or involve separate incidents.
