Para Transpo customers will be able to book rides until 2 a.m. on Saturdays and Sundays beginning September 4, extending the service by two hours under a one-year pilot program.

The shift matches O-Train Line 1 hours and responds to customer feedback requesting late-night access for community events. OC Transpo general manager Rick Leary said the enhanced service was approved by city council in June "to support more spontaneity for Para Transpo customers."

Trips between midnight and 2 a.m. must be booked on the previous service day by calling 613-560-5000. The online booking platform is not currently available for late-night bookings; staff are working to secure a vendor for future online access. Rural trips will end earlier at 1:30 a.m.

Currently, Para Transpo operates from 6 a.m. to midnight daily. The source does not specify the cost of the pilot or ridership demand data that prompted the extension.
