Preston Hardware near the intersection of Preston Street and Gladstone Avenue was targeted in a third shooting overnight between August 28 and 29, with no injuries reported.

Ottawa Police Service's Guns and Gangs Unit is investigating. Officers found evidence of gunfire at the business in the Little Italy area and believe shots were fired at the hardware store itself.

This marks the third shooting at the same location in 2026. The earlier incidents occurred on March 16 and July 9. Police have not said whether they've identified suspects or established a connection between the three incidents.

Investigators are asking anyone with information to contact the Guns and Gangs Unit. They're particularly seeking video surveillance or dash camera footage from anyone in the area during the overnight hours of August 28-29.
