Environment Canada has issued a yellow watch for severe thunderstorms Saturday, June 13 across Ottawa North, Kanata and Orléans, with dangerous weather expected to develop this afternoon and continue into the evening.

The storms could produce strong wind gusts and toonie-sized hail. Utility outages are possible, and injury as well as damage to roofs, fences, branches and soft shelters could occur.

Emergency Management Ontario recommends residents in the affected areas take cover immediately should these dangerous conditions approach. The province urges people to continue monitoring alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada throughout the day.
