Two collisions leave one dead, another critical

Two serious vehicle collisions in Ottawa have left one person dead and another in life-threatening condition.
On June 14, a 55-year-old man died from injuries sustained when his e-scooter collided with an SUV at the intersection of Carling and Fairlawn Avenue in Nepean, across from Carlingwood Shopping Centre, after 8 p.m. Police said the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two days later, on June 16 at about 9:30 a.m., an e-bike and a commercial refrigerated cube van collided at the intersection of Greenbank Road and Strandherd Drive in Barrhaven. The man in his twenties riding the e-bike was taken to hospital in life-threatening condition.
Ottawa Police Service's Fatal Collision Investigation Unit is investigating both incidents and seeking witnesses or dashcam video from either location. Anyone with information can contact the unit at 613-236-1222, ext. 2345.
