The Fraser Valley Regional District has issued an evacuation alert for the Brunswick Creek wildfire north of Boston Bar, which was discovered on July 2 and is now 14 hectares in size.

B.C. Wildfire Service lists the fire as out of control and believes it was human-caused. Crews responding to the blaze include the Boston Bar Fire Department, two initial attack crews, two unit crews, and two response officers from B.C. Wildfire Service. Three helicopters are assisting, though aviation has been limited due to weather and terrain.

As of Friday, July 3, crews were expected to work along the north and south flanks of the fire. There are no anticipated impacts to Highway 1.

Four properties are listed on the evacuation alert: 49600 Chaumox Rd., and three unaddressed properties (014-632-331, 014-632-314, 011-271-493). While residents are not required to evacuate at this time, the regional district says people should be prepared to do so on short notice.
