Continuous rainfall across Alberta over the weekend turned low-lying farming fields into rivers and ponds, with some areas receiving between 50 and 100 mm of rain within 36 hours.

Farmers are now concerned about crop losses from oversaturated and submerged land. Zolten Yaremie, who farms various crops near Andrew, said the water could take weeks to drain. "If it doesn't dry out soon, the crops might not get a chance to recover," he said.
