Ford Motor Co. and Unifor, the union representing Canadian autoworkers, have reached a tentative agreement on a three-year labour contract.

The deal covers roughly 5,000 workers across five plants in southern Ontario and one in Alberta. Details remain confidential until union members vote to ratify the agreement.

Negotiations began on June 22, 2026, as contracts at all three major American automakers were set to expire. Unifor chose to negotiate with Ford first, a strategy it employed during the previous round of talks in 2023. Talks with Stellantis and General Motors are expected to begin once the Ford agreement is ratified.
