Alberta RCMP have issued an Amber Alert for a six-year-old boy taken from near Grande Prairie.

Lanakai Morrison was taken Tuesday from the hamlet of Valhalla Centre, roughly 63 kilometres northwest of Grande Prairie. He was last seen in Fort St. John, B.C., on July 9 at approximately 9:30 a.m. BC RCMP believe the group is travelling through Northern B.C. and possibly into the Northwest Territories or Yukon.

Morrison is described as having a slight build with long, light-brown hair and brown eyes. He may be travelling with his mother, 35-year-old Krista Morrison, and her 35-year-old partner Daniel Ludwig. RCMP say another child, four-year-old Karl Morrison, may also be travelling with them.

Krista Morrison is described as 35 years old, 173 centimetres tall with a medium build, long dark brown hair and brown eyes. Daniel Ludwig is 35 years old, 180 centimetres tall with a large build, brown hair and brown eyes (noted as bald in the B.C. alert).

Late Thursday afternoon, investigators updated the vehicle description: a 2006 red Ford F350 pickup truck with Alberta licence plate CXW8820. Anyone who sees them is advised not to approach and to call 911 immediately.
