Rogers and Fido customers are facing monthly price hikes starting mid-July, according to notices sent on recent bills.
Most increases are about $5 per month, though some customers are seeing smaller increases of $4. One customer shared a notice stating: "We continuously invest to bring you Canada's most reliable 5G+ network and the best mobile experience in Canada. To help support these investments, the monthly fee for your wireless price plan will increase by $5 (plus taxes), starting with your next bill, on or after July 15, 2026."
The increase will appear as a line item called "Wireless Plan Rate Adjustment" on monthly bills, with other wireless services remaining unchanged.
A Fido customer reported on Reddit that the bring-your-own-phone $25/80GB plan they switched to just a couple of months ago is already seeing the $5 increase. However, not all customers with that plan are reportedly receiving notices — your experience may vary.
MobileSyrup reached out to Rogers, which owns Fido, but the company did not respond before publication. If you're hit with an increase, you can try negotiating with your provider, file a report with the Commission for Complaints for Telecom-television Services, or switch providers — which often comes with deals aimed at attracting new customers.
