The 27th edition of Art Toronto runs at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre from Oct. 29 to Nov. 1, with 105 galleries and exhibitors from around the world. It is the first under director Emily-Jean Alexander, who has added guided tours, collecting workshops and a Friday-night event for first-time buyers. General admission starts at $35.

One highlight is The Vault Collection, presented by Nicholas Metivier Gallery at Booth 109. It features rare artist proofs and legacy prints by Toronto-born photographer Edward Burtynsky, whose aerial images of mines, oil fields and quarries document industry's effect on landscapes. The collection covers photographs from 1985 to 2016 and includes two works from his forthcoming series Mining: For the Future, shown in public for the first time. Those were captured on a 2025 trip to Western Australia.

Montreal artist Karine Giboulo's installation Joy Is a Resistant Bacteria (The Living Room), presented by Art Mûr at Booth 210, turns a domestic room into the aftermath of a catastrophe. Damaged furniture and ash-covered belongings sit in the room, while tiny diorama figures rebuild the space and vegetation creeps through the destruction.

Ottawa-based artist Rich Loen's Databells uses 99 individually controlled bells that respond to statistical data, producing an evolving sound environment. Loen is a former software engineer.

The full list of seven highlighted works was not included in the material reviewed, and prices for the featured works were not given.
