One Toronto man has dedicated decades to uncovering the stories behind some of the city's most beautiful but overlooked artworks: its stained glass windows.

Glass artist and historian Henry Knight has repaired nearly 50 stained glass windows across Toronto and is now sharing the names and histories of the artists who created them. In an interview with CBC's Talia Ricci, Knight explained why he's committed to documenting these craftspeople and their work.

Many of Toronto's stained glass windows remain largely anonymous, their creators' identities lost to time. Knight's work restores both the physical windows and the historical record, connecting current Torontonians to the artisans whose skill shaped the city's heritage buildings.

"I got into this work because I wanted to help preserve and tell the stories of these artists," Knight said, speaking about his passion for the craft and the importance of recognizing the people behind these windows.
