Summerlicious returns to Toronto this July with over 240 participating restaurants offering special prix-fixe menus across the city from July 3 through 19. This year's lineup includes a major crop of newly opened spots alongside established favourites, making it an especially rich window to explore the city's restaurant scene.
Among the standouts: Edulis in Corktown, the contemporary Canadian restaurant long regarded as a patron saint of fine dining in the city; Sukh Soulfully Indian in Kensington Market, a Michelin-recommended gem specializing in modern Indian cuisine at particularly pocket-pleasing prices during the festival; and Honey Chinese on King East, a trendy spot that has recently expanded its menu beyond Chinese food, now offering a diverse selection of pan-Asian dishes like pad Thai, chicken dumplings, and blistered shishito peppers.
Other notable participants include Mercer Street by Le Germain Hotel, serving a deft blend of British and Indian cuisines with dishes like butter chicken pot pie and curry-spiced beef Wellington; a new Italian haunt on King East from a prolific local restaurateur featuring modern fare in a lively atmosphere; and a Little Italy spot specializing in Canadian-Italian cuisine with special Summerlicious options including beef carpaccio, bufala mozzarella, agnolotti, and balsamic-glazed Miami ribs.
