Pizzeria Badiali Opens Second Location in Mirvish

The celebrated pizza shop expands from Dovercourt to Mirvish Village with the same cult-favorite recipe and global recognition.

Pizzeria Badiali, the Dovercourt institution that consistently tops Toronto's pizza rankings, has opened a second location in Mirvish Village.

Since launching in 2021, Badiali has become an international sensation. Chef and co-owner Ryan Baddeley has been named one of the world's best pizza chefs for two consecutive years in a Milan-based global competition, beating pizzaiolos from Brazil to Tokyo. The original shop's lineups remain some of the city's longest.

The Mirvish location at 581 Markham Street brings the same commitment to classic charm and quality ingredients that made the Dovercourt spot legendary. Baddeley oversees both operations with partners Nick Halligan and Owen Walker.

Recent collaborations have expanded Badiali's reach beyond the brick-and-mortar. Miss Vickie's released a vodka sauce chip using Baddeley's cult-favourite recipe. In April, Shake Shack featured three Badiali menu items for a limited time: a spicy vodka chicken parm sandwich, pizza fries, and a Brio chinotto milkshake.

Baddeley's path to fame began unexpectedly. After helping launch two celebrated restaurants—Bar Isabel and Bar Raval—he started Badiali as a pandemic side project, baking at home during lockdown. Inspired by collaborations with Montreal chef Michele Forgione and fueled by the takeout boom, the corner slice shop became his full-time gig. The Mirvish expansion signals that Badiali has evolved from side project to permanent fixture in Toronto's food landscape.
