Toronto Stadium hosts its second FIFA World Cup men's match Wednesday, June 17, as Ghana takes on Panama, with kickoff scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
Both teams enter the match seeking crucial points in Group A, with every result potentially determining who advances to the knockout stage. The match is expected to draw supporters from both countries, with fan marches, watch parties, and cultural celebrations taking place throughout the city.
Tickets remain available through FIFA as of Wednesday morning. For fans unable to attend in person, several viewing options exist across the city. The FIFA Fan Festival released extra free general admission tickets Wednesday morning. A watch party will also be held at Sankofa Square as part of Ghana Fan Festival celebrations.
Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement ahead of the match, warning of heavy rain, strong winds, and a risk of severe thunderstorms beginning around 9:00 p.m. Rainfall totals of 40 millimetres or more are possible as a low-pressure system moves through the region. Most of Wednesday is expected to remain dry, with showers beginning early evening before intensifying later.
Public transit is the easiest option for reaching the stadium. GO Transit's Lakeshore West line serves Exhibition Station, located near Toronto Stadium. Several TTC routes also provide access: the 29 and 929 Dufferin buses run from Dufferin Station to Dufferin Gate; the St. Andrew shuttle runs from St. Andrew Station to Fleet Hub; and the 504 King streetcar serves the area. No general parking is available on match days at or around the stadium; fans are strongly encouraged to use public transit.
