A multi-vehicle crash on Highways 401 and 403 near Mississauga on Wednesday morning left five people injured, with three airlifted to a trauma centre.

Peel EMS confirmed five people were injured. The eastbound express lanes of Highway 401 are closed from east of Mississauga Road to east of Dixie Road. The eastbound express lanes of Highway 403 are closed from beyond Eglinton Avenue to the 401.

Ontario Provincial Police posted about the crash around 9:15 a.m. Wednesday. No details have been released on what led to the crash or how many vehicles were involved.
