9-year-old seriously hurt in North York crash

A 9-year-old girl was seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle in North York on Friday evening, June 19.
Toronto police say the girl was hit just after 6 p.m. in the Steeles Avenue West and Islington Avenue area. Paramedics transported the child to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Investigators say the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene. Police are continuing their investigation into the collision.
