A three-year-old child was seriously injured when a vehicle struck three pedestrians near Bathurst Street and Avenal Drive on Wednesday just before 4 p.m.
Paramedics rushed the child to a local trauma centre. An adult was taken to hospital with minor injuries, and a third person was assessed at the scene but declined hospital transport.
Toronto police say the driver remained at the scene. No charges have been announced. Bathurst Street was closed between Eglinton Avenue West and Avenal Drive while police investigated; authorities advised drivers to use alternate routes.
