Two killed in suspected street race on Finch Avenue West in North York
Police investigating high-speed crash involving two SUVs; seeking dashcam footage and the driver of second vehicle.

Two people died early September 5 when a black Audi SUV struck a concrete traffic pole on Finch Avenue West near Romfield Lane in North York, and police believe the driver was racing another black SUV moments before losing control.
Police were called at 4:34 a.m. The Audi was travelling eastbound at high speed when the driver lost control. Both the driver and passenger were pronounced dead despite emergency efforts.
Officers believe the Audi was racing a second black SUV, which may have been struck by debris from the crash. That second vehicle may have damage to its passenger-side front or rear panels. Police released images of the suspect vehicle and are working to identify its driver.
Traffic Services investigators are requesting security or dashcam footage from the area between 4:15 a.m. and 4:45 a.m. on September 5. Anyone who saw the second vehicle or has information is urged to contact police.
