Two elderly women were injured by downed utility wires in North Riverdale on Saturday afternoon.

Toronto police responded to reports of downed wires near Danforth and Broadview Avenues at approximately 1:30 p.m. Tree branches had fallen on the wires, causing the two women to suffer non-life-threatening injuries. Police, firefighters, and paramedics attended the scene.

Eastbound Danforth Avenue was closed from Broadview Avenue during the response.
