A 62-year-old man was arrested and charged with impaired driving after allegedly striking three pedestrians and leaving the scene near Woodbine Casino just before 11 p.m. Friday.

Police say a 26-year-old pedestrian was taken to hospital with moderate injuries. The driver was arrested away from the scene and charged with six offences, including dangerous operation of a vehicle causing bodily harm, leaving the scene of an accident, and impaired operation.

The incident underscores the ongoing risk of impaired driving in the city, particularly in busy entertainment districts where pedestrian traffic peaks late into the evening.
