A 52-year-old Toronto man has been charged in a hit-and-run that seriously injured a 34-year-old woman on Lansdowne Avenue at Brandon Avenue on Wednesday, August 26, just after 8:30 p.m. The woman was crossing when she was struck by a southbound vehicle travelling at high speed; the vehicle left the scene.
Joao Cabral of Toronto surrendered to police on Friday, September 11, and faces four charges: failing to stop at the scene of an accident causing bodily harm, obstructing justice, careless driving causing bodily harm or death, and driving a motor vehicle with no license.
