Toronto man charged with five counts of sexual assault on public transit

A 30-year-old Toronto man has been arrested and charged with five counts of sexual assault and one count of obstructing police following a series of attacks on public transit.
According to Toronto police, the assaults occurred in the downtown core between 8 a.m. and noon on Thursday, July 2. All victims were strangers to the accused, and none sustained physical injuries.
Ashraful Alam is described as standing between 5-foot-7 and 5-foot-10 with a medium build, black shaggy hair, and a black beard. At the time of the assaults, he was wearing a dark long-sleeve shirt, beige shorts, and dark Birkenstock-style sandals.
Detectives believe there may be additional victims and are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
