Two people were hospitalized with minor injuries after an outdoor bouncy castle flipped at Bridlewood Mall in Scarborough on Wednesday, July 1 due to strong winds.

Emergency crews responded around 5:53 p.m. to the mall at the corner of Simcoe and John streets. Toronto paramedics assessed four people at the scene and transported two to hospital.

Photos of the aftermath showed deflated colourful plastic spread across the parking lot with metal barriers strewn about the pavement. A nearby vehicle was damaged with a silver pole embedded in its windshield.

Toronto Fire Services said the inflatable structure flipped as "it got quite windy." Firefighters searched through the deflated structure to ensure no one was trapped inside.

The Ministry of Labour was notified of the incident and will be investigating. reporters reached out to the ministry and to the company that owns the bounce house.
